Summer Country Club Wedding by Cincinnati Wedding Planner

Posted August 1, 2019

Everything was right for Cathy and Matt’s gorgeous summer outdoor wedding.  Rain had loomed in the forecast leading up the wedding day (in addition to heavy rains all week!) but those expected rainclouds thankfully cleared the way for a picture perfect day.

Cathy and Matt’s wedding day vision was for guests to evolve through a feeling and mood throughout the day and evening. They wanted a whimsical outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour, followed by an indoor intimate, romantic candlelight dinner, and ending with the evening with a fun, modern party. As you will see in the photographs below, they perfectly fulfilled their vision!

The beautiful invitations, by Alaina Cherup of Cheer Up Letterpress and Design, set the tone of the wedding and invited guests to Rocky Fork Country Club to celebrate the marriage of Cathy and Matt. Rocky Fork is a place that holds special memories for the groom and his family so there wasn’t a better place for Matt to create the ultimate memory of marrying his bride on the property!

The bridesmaids wore mismatched dresses, in both color and style, by BHLDN that came together beautifully.

The bride wore a strapless lace dress by designer Mira Zwillinger with earrings  custom designed by her cousin to match the details of her wedding gown. Cathy was simply stunning!

This is such a sweet moment between the bride and her flower girl! The flower girl also wore a super cute dress by BHLDN.

The groom’s style equally matched his bride’s eloquent style with his bespoke suit by Joshua Kercher. The groomsmen looked dapper in their Suit Supply blue suits.

Defying the forecast, there was a not a rain cloud in site for the ceremony! The beautiful backdrop pictured below was actually Plan B for the ceremony as the endless rain all week leading up to the wedding caused the original site to be too soft and muddy. But how you can complain about getting married in front of an amazing lush of thick trees? I love it when Plan B is even better than what we originally envisioned!

Matt’s father married the couple, creating a very intimate and personal moment for the ceremony and highlighting the important element of family seen throughout the day.

Following the ceremony, guests proceeded to a beautiful sailcloth tent (provided by All Occasions) for cocktail hour.

One detail we absolutely loved in the cocktail hour tent was the hanging flowers  (by Yellow Canary).  Each flower was individually and carefully attached to 2 lines that were draped from the center of the tent to each corners adding the perfect whimsical touch that Cathy and Matt envisioned for their cocktail hour.

Following the cocktail hour, guests were transported via shuttles to the clubhouse for dinner.

While we used bright and floral linens for the tented cocktail hour, the mood of the reception dinner was classic and romantic. Textured linens were incorporated in a soft blue hue.  Yellow Canary filled the club’s chandeliers with greenery & flowers and they added candles, lots of candles, to the tables completing the intimate the look.

The soft glow of all the candles fostered the mood of love, laughter and friendship.

Cathy and Matt worked with the country club to create a custom menu in which each course was inspired by their favorite meals. They love to cook together so it was important to make sure this was a part of their special day!

We love, love, LOVE this photograph of Cathy & Matt! It’s so romantic and timeless.  You can feel their love and connection in this picture as they hold these vintage toasting flutes also used by Cathy’s parents on their wedding day.

Following the inmate and romantic dinner, guests moved to the final phase of the evening… the party!
Just outside the dinner on the terrace was yet another tent: this time a modern clear top structured tent, complete with draping, a white dance floor and chandeliers. It created a perfect atmosphere for a night of dancing under the stars with the A Town A List band.

In Cathy and Matt’s words, “It was truly an incredible day.”  Ah, we couldn’t ask for anything better for our amazing clients!
